The Awards are open to all businesses physically based and operating in Wyre Borough either registered for Business Rates, or for micro’s and sole traders, paying Council Tax to Wyre Council.

Entries from businesses physically based outside of Wyre, are not eligible.

Growth Business of the Year Award

A business that has demonstrated significant and sustainable profit growth, through market reach, team investment, or innovation — while maintaining strong values, customer focus, and a positive impact on its sector or community.

Business Person of the Year Award

An individual who has made a significant impact on their business and the industry, by entrepreneurial leadership, business acumen, and the ability to achieve sustainable growth and positive outcomes. This Award can be written by an individual, their team, or someone who wishes to highlight an outstanding business achiever in Wyre.

Climate Action Award

 All businesses and organisations.  This award acknowledges individuals, businesses, organisations, and local initiatives making significant strides in addressing climate change. We are looking for innovative solutions, impactful campaigns, and collaborative efforts that contribute to a low-carbon and resilient future.

Social Enterprise of the Year Award

This award celebrates Wyre’s social enterprises and Community Interest Companies (CiCs) with salaried full‑time equivalent (FTE) employees (in addition to Managers/Directors), delivering tangible community benefit through a strong, business‑led model. Entrants must demonstrate how their organisation operates with commercial discipline while reinvesting impact locally – contributing to economic resilience, employment, and positive social outcomes across Wyre.

Community Champion Business of the Year Award

Open to businesses only (not social enterprises). This award celebrates for‑profit business whose owners and staff have actively supported local charities and community causes over the last twelve months, through sustained fundraising, employee volunteering, skills-sharing, and practical support. Judges will look for authentic commitment, strong employee involvement, and clear benefit to the Wyre community.

Health, Beauty and Wellbeing Business of the Year  Award

This award is for all businesses and organisations that deliver exceptional health, beauty, wellbeing, wellness and care services, with a focus on quality, innovation, customer care, and a positive impact on clients’ lives and the wider community.

Micro Business of the Year Award

 This Award is for small businesses with 10 or fewer employees that can demonstrate outstanding performance, innovation, customer focus, and growth over the last twelve months, whilst making a strong impact in their sector or community.

Small Business of the Year Award

This Award is for businesses with more than 10 and up to 50 employees that can demonstrate excellence in performance, innovation, customer service, and community impact, with clear potential for continued growth and success.

New Business of the Year Award

This award is for newly established businesses (typically under 3 years old) that shows strong early performance, innovation, clear vision, and the potential for long-term success and growth.

The Farming and Countryside Award

This award is celebrating our Wyre Farmers and Landowners and direct suppliers/contractors, or directly supporting this sector. Those that demonstrate either rural craftmanship, excellence in animal husbandry, land management, innovation, sustainability, or other enterprise with a strong connection to rural life. Contributing positively to the environment, local farming and wider community, and the agricultural sector.

Social Media Award

This award is for any business, organisation or agency that has used social media creatively and effectively to promote Wyre, their town, village, community, and/or deliver impactful campaigns, that have driven real results — whether by boosting their own brand, or significantly benefiting a client or local organisation.

Team of the Year

This award is open to all businesses and organisations. Those that have demonstrated exceptional collaboration, shared purpose, and outstanding results — showcasing how their unity, innovation, and dedication have made a significant impact within their organisation or community.

Pride in Place Award

First impressions count for customers and visitors, town or rural. This will be judged anonymously by our panel in Fleetwood, Poulton, Garstang and Cleveleys. Should your business not be in one of these town centres on the main high street/or you just want to make double sure you’re entered, please enter the Pride in Place category with images of your business premises.

Hospitality and Tourism Award

This award is open to all hospitality and tourism‑based businesses operating in Wyre, including catering and food outlets, accommodation providers, visitor attractions, and tourism‑led experience businesses. It recognises organisations that deliver high‑quality experiences for residents and visitors alike, contributing positively to Wyre’s visitor economy and local sense of place. Entrants will demonstrate strong customer service, consistency, and pride in their offer, along with a clear connection to the borough through employment, presentation, reputation, or community engagement.
